The Research Officer post sits within the organisation’s Development & Partnership directorate, which has a remit that includes strategy and policy development, research, international working, community engagement, fundraising, and delivery of Our Place in Time – a strategy that sets out a 10 year vision for the historic environment of Scotland to 2024.
This is a newly created role in the Directorate. It is an excellent development opportunity for an individual with an interest in research and analysis, and in how research and evidence feeds into the development and successful delivery of policy. The successful candidate will be expected to work across the organisation to help develop our evidence-base and present findings to key audiences. Duties will involve undertaking desk-based research and analysis, commissioning research, undertaking horizon-scanning exercises, and producing briefings, reports, and other outputs for use in decision-making. The role will also support delivery of HES’s Research Strategy, and engage in collaborative research and analysis to help deliver our corporate outcomes and priorities.
