Thank you for enquiring about the post of Seasonal Visitor Services Assistant with Historic Environment Scotland based at Edinburgh Castle. This is a fixed term and pensionable appointment from April to September 2017. All posts are temporary with the possibility of extension or seasonal re-employment in future years.

The Recruitment Open Days are from 31 January – 2 February 2017 between 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Interviews will take place throughout the week commencing 6 February 2017.

We welcome applications from all nationalities and ask that if you require a VISA to live and work in the UK, you ensure that the conditions of your VISA (expiry date, working hours etc.) meet the criteria of the post you wish to apply for.

Please bring the original VISA documents with you to the Open Day, so that the appropriate checks and copies can be made – we may not be able to offer you an interview without these.

Failure to bring a completed application pack, VISA documents (if applicable) and all the required baseline security documents to a Recruitment Open Day will exclude you from the recruitment process.

If in possession of a Basic Disclosure Scotland certificate that is valid within the last 12 months, please bring this with you as it is a requirement for the post. If you are successful you will need to apply for a Basic Disclosure Scotland certificate, the cost of which will be refunded to you.

If you have lived in the UK for less than 12 months, you must provide evidence of a criminal record check from the relevant country or countries.

Failure to provide a Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate and/or evidence of a criminal record check from the relevant country within three weeks of being offered the post, could result in the offer being withdrawn.
