Information governance describes the approach within which accountability, standards, policies and procedures are developed and implemented. This ensures all information created, received and maintained by Historic Environment Scotland is used appropriately. The Information Officer – Records Management role will sit within the Information Governance Team in the Finance & Performance Directorate. The team is responsible for all aspects of information and information legislation within the organisation (Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011, Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, and Environmental Information Regulations (Scotland) 2004.

The post holder will assist in the ongoing project implementing an electronic document and records management system (EDRMS) across all of HES – known as the Document Centre (DC). The project is being implemented through working with a supplier and a small internal project team, with other stakeholders involved on an ad hoc basis. The project is part of the HES Programme for Success.

This is a great opportunity to work in the rapidly growing information management sector. The successful candidate will work closely with the Document Centre lead and records management team to complete the ongoing delivery of a new SharePoint based EDRMS system.
