Historic Environment Scotland are recruiting across a number of sites in Orkney for Steward positions. The posts that we have available are Seasonal contracts over the Summer months.

The likely start date for these roles is between June and August 2024 and you will need to attend training in Orkney.

Orkney’s fascinating history engages thousands of visitors each year. From the World Heritage sites forming the Heart of Neolithic Orkney, to the medieval Bishops and Earls Palaces in Kirkwall there is wide range of sites to suit all interests.

Orkney and Shetland district has 40 properties, of which six are staffed and you will be based at one of the staffed sites, with potential to work at other sites for the right candidate.
